Hello! I’m Ruxi Deng, a final-year undergraduate student majoring in Computer Engineering at the Zhejiang University-University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Institute pursuing dual degrees, co-cultivated by Zhejiang University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

During my junior year, I had the privilege of working as a research intern at the UIUC Data and Information Systems Lab (specifically iDEA-iSAIL Joint Lab) advised by Prof. Jingrui He, and currently at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab advised by Dr. Chuang Gan.

Miscellanea

Sports have always been an essential part of my life. I enjoy exploring many different sports—basketball, swimming, tennis, badminton, soccer—often starting with no prior experience, simply driven by curiosity and joy. Sports make life more colorful and fulfilling, and they offer a way to reflect on meaning, purpose, and self-growth. Among all of them, sprinting is the one that truly captivates me.

I believe that sprinting has ingrained in me a spirit of resilience and perseverance that continues to shape my studies, my research, and my life. No one remains forever the strongest on the track, nor the eternal winner—but for me, the meaning lies in the pursuit itself. That is what it means to be a runner.
